Process Journal #4

Homework #7: Process Journal 4  Full and complete sentence. Make sure to spell check.
Reflect on your use of the design cycle. What in your opinion is the most important stage in the design cycle? What steps in the design cycle are you most likely to revisit in your process (For example will you plan and plan again, create and recreate, evaluate and reevaluate, etc.)? What was the most challenging stage in the process? How have you used your problem solving and inquiry skills in the design cycle?

I think the most important stage in the design cycle is the beginning stages. This is when you have to break down your ideas and research.  You have to start to make decisions about the subject and design. I had to think about how I was going to make the design come to life.  The steps that were repeated was the research of the background, The process of picking different types of scenes using Adobe photoshop and Google images. The most challenging stage in the process for me was learning the Adobe Photoshop software.  I requested help from the teacher and asked other classmates.  I practiced until I became more and more familiar with the different steps needed to create my design.

Homework #6: Process Journal 3 Due Thursday
What is the purpose of evaluating a product? Who will be involved in your evaluation? How will you use the data from your evaluation? What possible changes will you make depending on the results? How will you determine if you have conducted a good evaluation?

The purpose of evaluating a product is to get a sense of what the creator is trying to say
The teacher and other kids will be evaluating the finished product of my Cd cover.
I will look at the data on Monday and reflect on the good comments and then the bad comments
If there is criticism towards my project, I will have to revert back to using adobe photoshop
and add or get rid up things to help my Cd cover be great. I will have determined if
I have conducted a good evaluation by asking the essential questions.

  4.      What challenges have you encountered and how have you addressed those challenges?
  5.      How has formulating a concept helped you in the design process?
  6.   What is your next goal and how do plan to achieve it?
This week I am at the Photoshop phase.  I now understand the photoshop process and have begun editing my artist for the CD cover.  So far I have created the background and pasted my artist image in front of it.  To do this I used various Photoshop tools like the Crop tool.  To create my background I went to Google Images and copied/pasted a background image on to my blank canvas.  The challenge I had this week was placing the image on the canvas and the repeated steps needed to save and download images on to the adobe photoshop, I seeked assistance from Ms. Rose.and I was able to complete it.  Formulating the CD design concept has helped me to keep my ideas fresh and in order.  The next steps is to finish the edit of the images.  My next goal is to begin the next phase of the CD cover which is the artist biography.
